Beyond Care holds its 4th Open House for New Members!

Members attend the Eastern Conference for Workplace Democracy, in Worcester, Massachusetts.

November 2014

Current president of Beyond Care joins the Board of the Democracy at Work Institute.

May and June 2014

The members participated in advocacy efforts to pass the Worker Cooperative Business Development Initiative in City Hall that would allocate 1.2 million dollars to organizations

A couple of the members gave testimony at a Council Hearing on worker cooperatives.

Members attended the National Worker Cooperative Conference in Chicago.

January 2014

The Beyond Care Cooperative receives its biggest group childcare job to date! More than half of the members assisted in providing childcare to about 200

Members completed the nanny training through Cornell Labor Institute.

Members attend Workplace-Based ESL classes using curriculum especially designed for Beyond Care on child care.

January 6, 2009

1st article about Beyond Care is published in the Park Slope Food Coop Gazette, “The Case for Worker Co-ops.”

January 2, 2009

Members completed a 10-week training of health and nutrition with Cornell University Labor Institute.

August 2008

The Official Launch of the Beyond Care Childcare Cooperative with 17 founding members.

June – August 2008

Founding members go through an 8-week coop training provided by Cooperative Development Program.
